National Safe At Home Week - August 23-27, 2010

Safe At Home™ announces its annual National Safe At Home Week for the last Monday through Friday in August of each year. This is to promote and emphasize safety in and around the home to eliminate senseless home-related injuries.

More people are injured in and around home than at work. Studies have also shown that the costs to both employees and employers from home injuries are higher than work-related injury costs. Safe At Home™ was created by a 25-year safety professional and emergency response provider in an effort to protect families and their quality of lives through not being injured at home.

Safe At Home™ is the first member-driven organization focused entirely on safety in and around the home. With its educational articles and resources, home safety products, and regional home safety workshops, Safe at Home™ provides households with materials on staying safe while giving its members safety checklists that may provide home insurance premium discounts through installing fire detection and home safety equipment. Often, a discount provided by an insurance carrier for having these items is greater than the cost of the
Safe At Home™ membership.

By joining Safe At Home™ members become part of a national home safety movement. For only $36 each year, members of Safe At Home™ may begin to experience savings in both costs and injuries. A referral program is also available to offset membership costs for next year.
